Inspection, journey and compliance systems for fleet and transport operators.

Bespoke Software for Transport & Fleet Operators

I help coach, bus and fleet operators build bespoke web and Android applications to manage vehicles, inspections, journeys and compliance – often integrating with existing ticketing or back-office systems.

If you’re juggling paper defect sheets, separate maintenance logs and ad-hoc spreadsheets, it becomes difficult to prove compliance or see the full picture of how your fleet is used. A dedicated .NET and SQL Server system can bring this together in one place.

Typical focus areas

  • Vehicle and asset registers with full history
  • Driver walkaround checks and defect reporting
  • Maintenance scheduling and workshop tracking
  • Journey, duty or route tracking as needed
  • Reporting for internal management and regulators

Using mobile & NFC/QR where it helps

Many projects use Android apps with NFC or QR codes to make it easy for drivers and engineers to record checks accurately. The aim is to reduce paperwork while improving the quality and timeliness of the data you rely on.

I can also integrate with existing ticketing or telematics systems where appropriate, so you’re not replacing everything at once.

Typical features

  • Vehicle and asset management
  • Driver walkaround and defect checks
  • Maintenance planning and history
  • Journey or duty tracking
  • Reporting dashboards and exports
  • Android apps with NFC / QR support

Good fit if you…

  • Operate a coach, bus or vehicle fleet
  • Have compliance obligations around checks and maintenance
  • Still rely on paper or basic spreadsheets
  • Want clearer insight into vehicle usage and costs

Next step

If you’re considering a new system for fleet inspections or maintenance, we can start with a short call to map how checks and journeys currently work.

Talk about your fleet system

Common fleet terms explained

DVSA is the UK’s Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency. Fleet operators often need clear records of inspections, defects and maintenance to demonstrate compliance during audits and checks.

A PMI (Preventive Maintenance Inspection) is a scheduled check carried out to keep vehicles safe, roadworthy and compliant. Systems often track PMI schedules, outcomes and remedial actions.

NFC (tap-to-scan) and QR codes let drivers or engineers identify the correct vehicle instantly before completing checks or logging defects. This reduces errors and speeds up inspections.

A DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) is part of a vehicle’s emissions system. Many fleets track DPF-related faults and repeat issues as part of maintenance history and defect reporting.

ODO refers to a vehicle’s odometer reading (mileage). It’s often used to trigger planned maintenance schedules and to understand vehicle usage.
