RSM 2000 Charity Donation App – Bespoke Android Payment, Direct Debit & Gift Aid System

RSM 2000 are a respected UK payment service provider with deep roots in charity payments, fundraising and lottery services. They support a wide range of charities and commercial organisations, offering specialist payment tools that enable frictionless donations and ongoing supporter engagement.

To expand their fundraising capabilities, RSM 2000 asked New Media Aid to develop a bespoke Android application that could interact with modern Bluetooth-enabled card readers and process both standalone and attended donations. The platform needed to support contactless and Chip & PIN transactions, automate Gift Aid collection and integrate with RSM’s existing Direct Debit systems.

Where a donor expressed interest in ongoing support, the app offers a seamless direct debit sign-up process. The information collected is securely transmitted to RSM 2000’s existing Direct Debit management system via a dedicated API integration. This ensures:

Gift Aid Capture for Enhanced Fundraising Value

Gift Aid is a critical part of UK charity fundraising, so the app guides donors through a simple, friendly process to register for Gift Aid during their donation. The app prompts for required details such as:

• Full name
• Postal address
• Declaration confirmation

This information is automatically transmitted to RSM’s systems, enabling the charity to reclaim an additional 25% of the donation value from HMRC. This creates a significant uplift for fundraising campaigns across schools, hospitals, places of worship and community venues.

Fundraiser Tools, Reporting & Refund Management
